About Free Ad Library
Free Ad Library is a free search engine for Facebook and Instagram ads. It exists because the official Meta Ad Library is built for transparency, not research: you can look up one Page at a time, but you can’t sort a whole niche by reach or study ads after they stop running.
Where does the data come from?
Every ad comes from Meta’s public ad transparency data. For ads delivered in the European Union, Meta publishes reach and audience breakdowns under the Digital Services Act. We index those ads, store the creative, and keep them after they go inactive.
How is spend estimated?
Meta doesn’t publish spend for commercial ads. We multiply reach by a fixed €30 cost per thousand impressions. It’s a rough guide, good for telling a small test from a scaled campaign, not an invoice.
Who builds it?
Free Ad Library is built by Oleg. It’s independent and not affiliated with Meta.
